Meet The Founder
The idea of BagUps® came to Jack Licata in an unconventional way. During his early days as a captain in the Air Force, he found himself on office clean-up duty emptying trash bins and thinking to himself, “there has got to be an easier way.”
It was then that the concept of a tissue-box-like system for trash bags came to mind. During the development of BagUps®, he became increasingly aware of the disastrous impact disposable trash bags have on our environment and he decided to do something about it. Jack’s commitment to serve our country and our planet led to the creation of BagUps®, a highly-functional, biodegradable alternative to the average trash bag.
Tragedy struck in Jack’s life when his fiancé was in a disabling car accident. After spending nearly a decade aiding her rehabilitation, he made a vow to empower the disabled community in any way he could. Today, when you order from BagUps®, a disabled veteran or member of our community will eagerly pack your order and send it out with care.
With every purchase, our customers support our efforts to employ veterans and people with disabilities and to help our environment, one green bag at a time.
